It was a gorgeous, windy spring day by the river in beautiful Saxapahaw, NC. I was excited to meet up with Alyssa and her mom for her senior session. Prior to this day, we had a pre-consultation at The Blend in downtown Burlington. I love to meet my clients before the shoot to get to know them, hear their vision for their session, discuss locations and go over my product line so they can start planning their purchase. For me, it’s not just about photographing someone on the day of their session. It’s about building a relationship and establishing rapport. I want authentic photographs and that comes so much easier when a relationship is established and trust is gained.
Alyssa is a beautiful, young lady who just graduated this week from River Mill Academy. Come to find out, River Mill started right where we held her session. Saxapahaw! I had no idea. Suddenly the name River Mill made complete sense. Not only that, how fitting that her senior session should take place where her education began as a little girl. Full circle.
During her school years, Alyssa was involved with gymnastics, cheer, dance team and soccer. She was a also a member of the National Honor Society. She loves to spend her free time hanging out with her friends and boyfriend. She also loves to shop and work out at the gym!
Her favorite quote is:
“You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
Alyssa, you are a bright, energetic and fun young lady! I loved hanging out with you and your mom and am excited to see where life’s journey will take you.
May you always have “the courage to lose sight of the shore”.
Seriously, Alyssa! Stunning!!!
I mentioned she was involved with gymnastics right? Well, not only did she do gymnastics; she was a championship gymnast!!!! She was on Kidsport’s Competitive Team and won numerous medals, a few of which she chose to wear for the last photos of her session. You go, girl!
