You can have all the plans in the world, but when life turns upside down you realize how fragile your plans really are.
When I photographed Amber’s beautiful fall session, we had no clue that in just a few short months everything would change.
Amber, along with most seniors, was looking forward to her last year of high school and all that it would entail, including prom and graduation. Covid-19 reared its ugly head and took all of this away.
What are you building on?
If this crazy time has taught us anything, it’s that life can throw us unexpected curve balls and change in an instant. What foundation are we building our lives on? When all crumbles around us, do we still stand or do we crumble as well?
If our lives are built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, we have an unshakeable hope. Our call to share the good news of Jesus never changes, even when circumstances do.
Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.
1 Corinthians 15:58
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
1 Peter 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”
Where is your hope?
My hope lies in Jesus Christ and in the knowledge that He is in complete control. When fear of the future tries to overtake me, I choose to fix my eyes on Him.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.
My prayer is that whatever you are going through, you will know the Prince of Peace. Jesus is the only answer to every question and the only solution to every problem.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
